Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope all our children, parents, guardians relatives and friends have had a safe and fun packed summer vacation. School officially opens for all pupils on Monday 3rd September 2018. Supervision begins at 9.00am and classes start at 9.15am.

On behalf of the staff of the school I would like to offer a very special welcome to all our new Primary 1 children and their parents. Thankyou for choosing Foley Primary School and entrusting your children to our care. Also at our first school assembly of the new academic year we will be offering a special prayer for our former Primary 7 pupils as they begin their secondary school careers in St. Patrick's High School. We wish them well.

OPENING TIMES:

The normal school hours are as follows:

P1 – P2:          9.15 am - 2.00 pm Monday to Friday

P3:                 9.15 am - 2.00 pm Monday to Thursday (September –December)

                      9.15 am - 3.00 pm Friday (October –December)

                      9:15 am - 3.00 pm Monday to Friday (January –June)

P4 - P7:          9:15 am - 3.00 pm Monday to Friday

Please note that Breakfast Club Supervision will commence from Monday 10th September from 8.30-9.00am.

The school doors will normally be open each morning at 8.30am for children attending Breakfast Club and supervision is available from 9.00am for children not attending Breakfast Club.

During the first week all parents and guardians will receive a number of information messages to keep you updated on forthcoming events. If you have any queries about uniform, school meals, or any aspect of school life please feel free to contact the school office from 9.00am to 12.15pm on any weekday.

CLASS STRUCTURE:

All of the classes in Foley Primary School are currently composite classes and from September 2018 they will be as follows:

Primary 1 and 2                                           Miss O’Hare

Primary 3, 4 and 5                                       Mr Carville

Primary 6 and 7                                           Mr Kelly

SCHOOL UNIFORM:

Full School Uniform must be worn on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. This consists of

  • Maroon jumper with school crest
  • Navy school trousers, pinafore or skirt
  • Pale blue shirt
  • Navy tie
  • Navy socks or tights
  • Black shoes

PE Uniform must be worn on PE days, which are Wednesday and Friday. PE uconsists of:

  • Maroon hoodie with school crest
  • Plain navy tracksuit bottoms. No branded tracksuit bottoms are permitted.
  • White, black or navy runners. No fluorescent trainers are allowed.

All items of school uniform must be clearly marked to avoid mix-ups/loss at P.E and swimming times. The uniform can be purchased at all clothes shops in Keady. At all times pupils are encouraged to take a pride in their school uniform.

SCHOOL MEALS:

For all parents who wish their children to avail of 'School Meals' and have to pay it should be noted that all dinner money is collected on Mondays and Fridays by the school secretary.

Please ensure that children’s dinner money, and all other money, is clearly marked in a sealed envelope. If paying by cheque, parents are asked to make cheques payable to ‘EA’ and not ‘Foley Primary School’.

The current daily fee from September 2018 for children’s school dinners is £2.60 per day which is £13.00 per week. (Please note that these costs are set by the EA not the school. Parents will be notified of any changes, as they occur, during the school year).
