The children made an erupting volcano today. We mixed bicarbonate, washing up liquid, water, vinegar and food colouring all together and then poured this in to our home-made volcano. The children made some brilliant predictions about what they thought might happen. Most of their senses were awakened as they could smell the vinegar, touch the ‘lava’, see the reaction and hear the mixture bubbling. Their reactions were priceless, they were so excited. 🌋💥
