The P.2 class teamed up with Laura from the Ulster Folk Museum to explore interesting objects from the past, our topic is ‘A walk through the past’ and this workshop fitted the theme brilliantly. We had a mysterious silver box delivered last week that the class have been wondering about since. When Laura beamed in from the park the class discovered what it contained. Through handling the items and some very clever working out, the class found out about how familiar things have changed through the years. Among the items were a very unusual toaster and an iron with a ‘slug’ inside! Later on, the girls and boys took on the teachers role and told Mr McCrory what each item was. As Mr McCrory said ‘Every day’s a learning day’, very true!
